The Calgary Stampede Foundation currently supports the following Scholarships:
International Youth Livestock Scholarship
Created to showcase youth in agriculture, contenders must compete in five different components to be eligible and be enrolled in the ‘Summer Synergies’ program. The components are: marketing, conformation with animals, showmanship, team judging and multi-judging.
Joe and Sara Brager Scholarship
Created to reward a student from the Young Canadians program. Funding for this scholarship was generously donated and established by Joe and Sara Brager. Joe was a volunteer on the Grandstand Attractions committee for twenty five years before retiring.
Created to reward a student or alumni of the Calgary Stampede Foundation’s youth education music programs, including the Calgary Stampede Showband and The Young Canadians School of Performing Arts. Funding for this scholarship was generously donated and established by Dave Robson. Dave was a member of several Calgary Stampede committees including Corporate Relations, Light Horse, and Cutting Horse.
Bill Collins Youth Excellence Scholarship
Created to fund our youth cutting horse class awards, while simultaneously recognizing Bill Collins for his outstanding accomplishments. This scholarship creates a lasting legacy for Bill’s achievements in the equine industry. This fund has been in place for 5 years and was a sense of pride by Bill and his wife Pearl.
Junior Steer Classic Scholarship
Created as part of the Junior Steer Champion Auction, post-secondary scholarships are rewarded to the grand champion and reserve champion.
Grade 12 Western Art Scholarship
Students in Grade 12 are invited to enter Western themed artwork. Winners may use scholarships for post-secondary education in the field of their choice. Three scholarships are awarded to students attending High school within the City of Calgary and three scholarships are awarded to students attending High School in Southern Alberta.
The D’Arcy Agriculture scholarship is awarded to students or alumni of the Calgary Stampede youth agriculture programs who want to continue their dream to pursue a career through education in trade and technical training, and other non-university institutions.
The D’Arcy STEM scholarship is awarded to students or alumni of the Calgary Stampede Showband, Colour Guard or Showriders who are pursuing opportunities to develop strong roots in their culture and is currently enrolled or has been accepted for the ensuing academic year at a university majoring in chemistry, physics, or engineering.
Funding for these scholarships was generously donated and established by Clyde Granville D’Arcy.
