The Calgary Stampede Foundation currently supports the following Scholarships:
Enbridge’s Citizen of Tomorrow
The Enbridge Citizens of Tomorrow Program to provide equal opportunity programming for Calgary’s youth. Enbridge provides post secondary scholarships to youth who are selected based on their achievement throughout their time at the Young Canadians School of Performing Arts, the Stampede Showband and the International Youth Livestock Show.
International Youth Livestock Scholarship
Created to showcase youth in agriculture, contenders must compete in five different components to be eligible and be enrolled in the ‘Summer Synergies’ program. The components are: marketing, conformation with animals, showmanship, team judging and multi-judging.
Joe and Sara Brager Scholarship
Created to reward a student from the Young Canadians program. Funding for this scholarship was generously donated and established by Joe and Sara Brager. Joe was a volunteer on the Grandstand Attractions committee for twenty five years before retiring.
Created to reward a student or alumni of the Calgary Stampede Foundation’s youth education music programs, including the Calgary Stampede Showband and The Young Canadians School of Performing Arts. Funding for this scholarship was generously donated and established by Dave Robson. Dave has been a member of several Calgary Stampede committee including Corporate Relations, Light Horse, and Cutting Horse.
Bill Collins Youth Excellence Scholarship
Created to fund our youth cutting horse class awards, while simultaneously recognizing Bill Collins for his outstanding accomplishments. This scholarship creates a lasting legacy for Bill’s achievements in the equine industry. This fund has been in place for 5 years and was a sense of pride by Bill and his wife Pearl.
UFA Steer Classic Scholarship
Created as part of the Junior Steer Champion Auction, post-secondary scholarships are rewarded to the grand champion and reserve champion.
Western Showcase Scholarship
Created to encourage students completing Grade 12 to consider post secondary education in the field of their choice. Three scholarships are awarded to students attending High Schools within the city of Calgary and three students attending high schools in Rural Alberta.
